About AutoPro X

Can I connect more than one smartphone at a time?

Multiple smartphones can be paired with the device, but only one can be used at a time, with priority given to the most recently connected phone. To ensure a seamless connection, we recommend disabling the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on any smartphones you do not wish to connect when multiple devices are paired.

How long does it take to connect AutoPro X?

The connection time can vary depending on the car model and smartphone, but on average, it takes less than 20 seconds.

How does the connection work?

AA (Android Auto)
It connects using both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The initial connection is made via Bluetooth, and then data is transferred over Wi-Fi. So, be sure not to turn off Wi-Fi or Bluetooth while using the device.

DeX (AutoPro X)
It connects through Wi-Fi Direct. If Wi-Fi is turned off during use, the connection will be lost.

AutoPro X isn’t responding or starting up properly.

If you encounter any of the following issues or errors,

① The device is connected, but there’s no response.
② The device fails to boot (start) for an unknown reason.
③ The screen keeps switching to black after the "Reading USB..." message.

Make sure that Android Auto is enabled in your car.
You can also check the troubleshooting page for help with start-up screen issues.

What Wi-Fi frequency does it use?

It uses 5GHz Wi-Fi.

Can I use any apps?

App Availability Depends on the Mode. Please see the details below:

1. AA (Android Auto)
You can use most apps supported by the Google Play Store and your smartphone.
However, when using Android Auto, only apps approved by Google for safe driving will be available.
Be sure to check if the app you want to use is compatible with Android Auto. Check Here.

2. DeX (AutoPro X)
You can use any apps installed on your smartphone.
(However, some apps may not work properly in DeX mode.)

Can I make calls with my smartphone?

How to Switch Call Audio Output

1. AA (Android Auto)
Once Android Auto is connected, for safety reasons, phone calls can only be made through your car’s system, not your smartphone.
The audio will automatically go through the car’s speakers. If you’d prefer to take the call on your smartphone, follow these steps:

  • STEP 01: On the car display ▶ Answer the incoming call
  • STEP 02: On the call screen ▶ Tap the Bluetooth icon
  • STEP 03: From the pop-up ▶ Select "Handset"

2. DeX (AutoPro X)

When AutoPro X mode is connected, for safety reasons, phone calls will only go through your car’s system, and the audio will be played through the car’s speakers. If you want to take the call on your smartphone, follow the same steps as above.

Some apps aren't working properly.

1. AA (Android Auto)
If certain apps aren’t working, it’s usually a settings or management issue on your phone. Try these steps to check battery optimization, or fix any permission issues:

How to Check Battery Optimization:
STEP 01: Go to Settings ▶ Search for the app with the issue ▶ Tap App Info
STEP 02: Tap Battery ▶ Choose "No Restrictions"

How to Fix Permission Issues:
STEP 01: Go to Settings ▶ Search for the app with the issue ▶ Tap App Info
STEP 02: Tap Permissions ▶ Allow All Permissions

2. DeX (AutoPro X)

Content Display Issues
These issues happen when the app format isn’t fully supported by DeX. You can either stop using the app or try maximizing the screen.

App Stoppage Due to Power-Saving Mode
If your phone is in power-saving mode, DeX may lose connection, or some apps might stop working.
To fix this, turn off power-saving mode or set the battery restrictions for apps you use in AutoPro X mode to "No Restrictions."

How to Turn Off Power-Saving Mode: Go to Settings ▶ Battery ▶ Turn off Power Saving Mode

I’m not getting any sound after connecting the device.

Try one of the following methods to fix the issue:

1. Downgrade the firmware, then upgrade it again.
Example: Downgrade to V3.5.1, then update again to V3.5.2.

2. Before using DeX, connect to Android Auto once first.
- When you first purchase the device
- After updating the firmware
- If you reset the device through the app's settings menu

(DeX Mode) I’m noticing some occasional lag and disconnects.

Turn off power-saving mode on your phone.
If power-saving mode is on, it can cause issues when using DeX.

To turn it off:
Go to Settings ▶ Battery ▶ Power Saving Mode ▶ Switch off

(DeX Mode) After a call, the Bluetooth disconnects or I can't hear any sound.

While using DeX, you might experience Bluetooth disconnections or no sound output after a call.

If this happens, please connect to Android Auto once before use.

Make sure to connect to Android Auto in the following cases:

  • When using the device for the first time
  • After updating the product’s firmware
  • If you've reset the device through the app's settings menu

(Android Auto Mode) When I step out of the car and get back in (within less than a minute), the automatic connection doesn’t work.

Turn the Wi-Fi off and on again to reconnect.
